Councilor Turner Says He's Locked Out Of Office

BOSTON - November 21, 2008 - Boston City Councilor Chuck Turner says the City Council president has locked him out of his office after getting arrested on federal corruption charges.
Council president spokesman Justin Holmes says no one has restricted Turner from using his office in any way. He says Turner's aides were handling phones there earlier today.
"It's unclear to me at this point why the councilor would believe that his office was quote, un-quote, 'shut down.'"
Turner has been charged with extortion and making false statements. He allegedly accepted a $1,000 cash bribe from an informant as part of an undercover investigation involving state Sen. Dianne Wilkerson.
Turner was released Friday on a $50,000 bond.
