Julian Marshall

Julian Marshall

BBC Newshour

Julian Marshall was educated at the University of Zimbabwe and in Rhodesia. This marked the beginning of his love affair with Africa. Julian joined the BBC in September 1977 as a producer in the BBC World Service's African Service. Working on Focus on Africa in the seventies and eighties, Julian travelled the length and breadth of the continent, reporting on events. He began hosting in 1990 and enjoys the ringside seat at the dramatic events that have marked the closing years of the twentieth century. Julian is married and has four children. Relaxation includes being at home with the family, the chance to read, and to work out at the gym and cycle.
