Judy Swallow

BBC Newshour

Judy Swallow was born in Yorkshire in the North of England but grew up in Massachusetts. After high school and art school, she worked as a journalist in Australia, a riding instructress in Belfast, and a British Airways stewardess, before joining the BBC. As a reporter, she worked on a variety of BBC domestic radio programs before joining the World Service. For much of that time, she has worked on Newshour, five years as an Editor, but has also travelled worldwide making documentaries. Her spare time tastes include art and music.
