David Boeri

Radio Boston

Since the fall of 1968, when I started out following Hubert Humphrey's last week on the campaign trail with a microphone and tape recorder, I have moved between radio, print, television and now again, radio. Covering local, national and international stories, I have reported on wars in El Salvador and Kosovo, environmental destruction in Belize and Guatemala, Eskimo whale hunters in Alaska, politics in Canada, and in Greater Boston, everything from crime and corruption to commercial fishing and catastrophes.

I've freelanced for magazines and newspapers and written two books dealing with the environment, cultures, and politics. I worked in public radio during its early days in Alaska and later in Seattle. And I have worked as a general assignment reporter in public and commercial television, in both news and public affairs.

My training is in botany, my instincts are in journalism and along the way, I've also been a teacher of both.
