Bill Littlefield, the host of "Only A Game," began his radio work as a commentator for WBUR and National Public Radio's "Morning Edition" in 1984. A graduate of Yale University and the Harvard University School of Education, Bill's a professor in the Humanities Division at Curry College in Milton, Massachusetts, where he has taught writing and literature courses since 1976.

Bill has written articles, reviews, and essays for a number of publications, most recently the Boston Globe and Los Angeles Times. He was the guest editor for the 1998 edition of Houghton Mifflin's Best American Sports Writing. His books include Keepers: Radio Stories from "Only a Game" and Elsewhere (1998, Peninsula Press); Champions: The Stories of Ten Remarkable Athletes (1993, 1999 paperback, Little, Brown); Baseball Days (1993, Houghton Mifflin; 2000, paperback, Pond Press); and Prospect (1989, Houghton Mifflin).

The commentaries Bill has written and voiced for WBUR and "Only A Game" have won numerous Associated Press Awards, and Bill has been designated one of Boston's "Literary Lights" by the Associates of the Boston Public Library.
