Former President Donald Trump's trial resumes Thursday. He's accused of falsifying business records — covering up payments to adult film star Stormy Daniels, to hide an alleged affair. Trump denies all charges.

The case has created a divide among legal experts.

Here & Now's Robin Young speaks with two experts with different views on the case: Boston University law professor Jed Handelsman Shugerman and University of Michigan law professor Barbara McQuade, former U.S. attorney appointed by former President Barack Obama.

This segment aired on May 1, 2024.
